NIKOLA RADAN

As a flautist, composer, and songwriter, I believe that music has the power to unite people and foster social change. For over twenty years, I’ve been collaborating with musicians, artists, film directors, and writers—locally, nationally and internationally—to create platforms that find original ways of showcasing the history of music and cross-cultural artistic exchanges around the globe. As co-founder of Clash of Civilizations, my focus was “bridging the world's cultural divides through the splicing, fusing, and weaving of disparate musical traditions.” (WBUR Boston) In my newest ensemble, Blue Thread, I search for common ground between diverse cultures, tracing global stories that have traveled through oral and written traditions from ancient times to the present day.
